Who We Are
Jordi Solsona Belenguer
Jordi is an associate professor in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. His background is in radio engineering and tangible interaction design. His research interests are in using tangible interaction to improve or enhance interactions in other disciplines like Extended reality, machine learning, IoT or conversational interfaces. Currently, Jordi focuses on how to use Gaze tracking technology in tangible interaction design. Jordi is responsible and teacher for the Master’s Programme in “Design for Creative and Immersive Technology” where he runs the new Extrality lab.
Luis Quintero
Researcher in adaptive virtual reality applications and behavioral analysis with machine learning. Interested in applications of XR in healthcare, professional training, and education. Most of my work refers to real-time analysis of physiological signals, motion trajectories, and in-game interactions to classify subjective user characteristics like skill level, emotional states, or mental workload. Patricia Ciobanu
Researcher in more-than-human technological assemblages, using design-led approaches such as Research through Design and Autobiographical Design. This topic’s motivation stems from current concerns related to the climate crisis as well as an interest in advancing a Posthuman Interaction Design that steps away from exploitative and instrumentalist practices of nonhuman actors. The main goal of this research is to contribute to new ways of inquiring into the topic of more-than-human and how to mediate more sustainable and collaborative human-nonhuman relations.
